New at Supannee House of Thai: White Beech Mushrooms

White Beech, or Bunapi, is a mushroom that offers a combination of crunchy textures and a smooth, nutty flavor. The White Beech is somewhat bitter in its raw state, but is very enjoyable once cooked. Chef Wan uses it in her soups: Tom Yum, Tom Kah (coconut soup), and Pohtak soup (with Thai basil.) She also uses this mushroom in stir-frys(young ginger, cashew nuts, sweet&sour stir-fry,  and much more.

The White Beech offers a delicious source of antioxidants, fiber, and essential vitamins and minerals. It is low in calories and cholesterol-free.

Supannee also composts cut off and discard the base of the cluster with other vegetables and fruits cutting for an excellent organic Housemade compost  for her beautiful gardens.
